Troy, Michigan - Dec. 20, 2004 - Syntel, Inc. (NASDAQ: SYNT), a leading global IT services firm, announced today it has appointed Vinod Swami to the role of Vice President, Global Sales. The position will report to Keshav Murugesh, Syntel COO.
Vinod joined the Syntel sales organization in 1993, and has held a variety of increasingly responsible sales roles during his tenure. Most recently, Mr. Swami has served as Vice President of Strategic Sales. Vinod has extensive experience in helping organizations embrace the value of the Global Services Delivery model, and was directly responsible for establishing the relationships with several of Syntel's largest customers.
Prior to joining Syntel, Vinod spent 10 years with a major direct selling organization in India, where he managed a large sales organization and played a key role in establishing the company's leadership position in that region.

Foremost on Vinod's agenda is helping accelerate Syntel's top-line momentum. He will work to accomplish that by increasing the footprint within platinum clients, further strengthening the sales team, and driving the new business development process.
