Global financial services technology provider GBST (ASX:GBT) and Sunsuper, one of the nation's fastest growing funds and long term advocate of after-tax performance measurement , today announced GBST will provide after-tax performance benchmarking services for two of Sunsuper’s Australian Equities mandates.

This new agreement will support the recent decision by Sunsuper’s Investment Team to alter the performance objective of its Australian Equities mandates to a customised after-tax benchmark based on underlying S&P/ASX pre-tax indices. GBST Quant will provide the after-tax index benchmarks to Sunsuper.

For Bruce Tomlinson, PM of Australian Equities and Hedge Funds, Sunsuper this is a major decision in line with current market trends to adopt a customised after-tax basis and an appropriate after-tax approach for the fund's current needs.

According to Kathy Taylor-Hofmann, Head of GBST Quant Division this is a continuation of the broadening of information in the after-tax space. “We firmly believe that our customisable after-tax services are directly contributing to making this more beneficial after-tax investment approach for investors and members more appealing to the industry as a whole.

"We are delighted to be working with one of the earliest adopters of an after -tax performance measurement regime and enabling the evolution to a customisable after-tax benchmarking environment which we believe is more aligned with the Fund Manager's investment processes," she concluded.

GBST is the leading provider of after-tax indices in the Australian market and today provides services for a range of leading superannuation funds and fund managers including Unisuper, Cbus and Warrakirri Asset Management.

GBST Quant recently launched its pre-trade tax analysis tool, Tax Analyser, which is the first solution in Australia to allow fund managers to see and manage superannuation fund level tax consequences of proposed actions as part of the investment process.
