Revolut has launched RevPoints, a pan-European debit loyalty card programme in the UK. Users can earn points through daily transactions, redeemable for travel and shopping rewards.
The programme aims to make loyalty benefits accessible without needing a credit card.
Revolut, the global financial app with over 40 million customers, announced on Tuesday, June 18, the launch of RevPoints, the first-ever pan-European debit loyalty card programme in the UK. This new initiative aims to transform everyday spending into rewards, making it accessible to a broad audience without the need for a credit card.
RevPoints allows customers to accumulate points through their daily transactions, which can then be redeemed for a variety of rewards. These include coveted airline miles, travel discounts, premium accommodations, and exclusive experiences. Unlike traditional loyalty programmes that often require a credit card, RevPoints is designed to be inclusive, enabling all Revolut users to benefit from the programme. Customers can transfer their RevPoints to over 30 airline loyalty programmes, including British Airways Executive Club and Flying Blue, making travel more attainable despite rising flight prices.
The versatility of RevPoints is one of its standout features. Points can be redeemed for significant discounts on holiday accommodations and experiences through the Lifestyle tab within the Revolut app. For everyday convenience, points can also be used for discounts at top brands such as French Connection and Dermalogica when shopping online with Revolut Pay. Depending on the plan, users can earn up to one point per pound spent. Additionally, customers can accelerate their earnings by converting spare change into points, completing in-app challenges, or making in-app bookings for stays and experiences.
New users can jump-start their journey with 3,000 points after making 150 eligible transactions. Furthermore, users can earn up to 10,000 bonus points by upgrading their plan and meeting spending thresholds within the first 90 days. For those on Revolut’s Ultra plan, the rewards are even more substantial. Customers who spend £2,500 a month could earn up to 30,000 RevPoints annually, enough for a free round trip from London to New York or a £600 hotel discount.
Since its trial launch in September 2023, over 1 billion RevPoints have been earned, with nearly 120 million points redeemed by Revolut users across seven European markets.
Christopher Guttridge, General Manager of Lifestyle Products at Revolut, stated, “At Revolut we’re all about helping people get more for their money. RevPoints is set to transform everyday spending into things and experiences people love, by converting routine purchases into rewards. Unlike many loyalty programmes, we make RevPoints accessible to all by ensuring customers can maximise the benefits of using Revolut as their primary bank account without requiring a credit card.”
Revolut plans to introduce even more lifestyle benefits for paid plan customers. Soon, users on Metal and Ultra plans will not only be rewarded with extra RevPoints for their daily spending but also gain access to new lifestyle enhancements. These include subscriptions to The Athletic, MasterClass, and Chess.com, complementing the current range of benefits such as the Financial Times, Deliveroo, Tinder, ClassPass, and NordVPN.
These new benefits will be available in-app and can be easily activated by customers on eligible paid plans via “Profile” > “Your Plan” > “Partners”.
These changes are being introduced one year on from the introduction of Revolut’s Ultra paid plan in June 2023. Ultra customers can earn the most RevPoints for their spend and will be able to unlock access to all partner benefits. Since launch, Revolut has continued to expand the partner benefits available with the programme, which now total over £4,255 GBP in value per year.
