Paytech market updates: Klarna, PayPal and ACI Worldwide lead in collaborations

PayPal, on August 23, launched a new service enabling customers in the UK to buy, hold and sell cryptocurrency. The announcement is the first step of its international expansion of the company’s cryptocurrency offering outside of the US.

TPAY MOBILE, on August 18, launched the first phase of its strategic app monetisation partnership with Huawei enabling over 60m subscribers to purchase from Huawei’s AppGallery using direct carrier billing.

On August 12, SurePay announced Tridos Bank UK will implement its full service Confirmation of Payee solution providing customers a layer of security against fraud and misdirected payments.

Yoox NET-A-PORTER Group, on August 9, announced an international partnership with Klarna. Brands across the group’s portfolio will have access to Klarna’s flexible payment services.

On August 5, ACI Worldwide announced an expanded multi-year strategic alliance with Microsoft to deliver payment solutions in the cloud. They will collaborate on innovations that empower financial institutions to launch new solutions, add new services to their existing platforms and deliver those capabilities with greater agility.

EedenBull, on August 4, announced its participation in Mastercard’s Track Business Payment Service to enhance its Commercial Payments-as-a-service (CPaaS) solution. EedenBull’s customers will benefit from reduced complexity and costs for a greater end-user experience.

Barclaycard Payments, on July 22, announced it was joining Mastercard’s Track Business Payment Service to modernise its payments. The new services are available to Barclaycard Payments’ customers later this year.

On July 22, VibePay launched a new feature “Channels” that links multiple bank accounts and provides an ongoing, dedicated timeline of all payments between users and banks.
