INZMO launces AI legal chatbot to support tenants and landlords

Berlin-based insurtech INZMO has launched RentalBot, an AI-driven chatbot aimed at helping tenants and landlords in Germany’s strained rental market get easy access to tailored legal information and support.

With nearly half of Germany’s population living in rented homes, legal matters regarding tenancy are one of the most common areas requiring legal support in the country. Tenants and landlords often seek professional legal advice to navigate housing and tenant protection laws, manage disputes, and protect their rights effectively.

Commenting on the launch, Reelika Ein, Chief Product and Experience Officer at INZMO, said: “Tenants and landlords are having to grapple with the complexities of the country’s intricate and stringent housing laws and are often forced to seek out professional legal advice which comes at a cost. INZMO has identified a clear need in the market to help both tenants and landlords get urgent, informed and affordable responses on common rental issues and disputes.

INZMO RentalBot: features and capabilities

RentalBot, created in collaboration with legal tech firm ChatLegal, has undergone thorough training and testing on German rental laws and real-life court cases. This ensures that its advice and information are reliable and relevant.

Using natural language processing and machine learning, RentalBot analyses user queries and legal data to offer clear guidance on rental laws and common issues. It helps users with matters like rental pricing, evictions, deposit disputes, maintenance problems, and lease terms

Moreover, RentalBot simplifies complicated legal language to provide practical, easy-to-understand advice to tenants and landlords anytime, anywhere, using any device. The 24/7 service is currently available in both English and German.

Though RentalBot offers valuable insights, it doesn’t replace personalised advice from a human lawyer or legal representation. It currently doesn’t generate document templates but can advise on their structure and content.
