SmartStream Technologies, the Transaction Lifecycle Management (TLM®) specialist, today announced with immediate effect the appointment of Peter Moss as CEO of The SmartStream Reference Data Utility (RDU).

Peter joins the first industry-formed data management service, established by Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley and SmartStream, after a twenty-five year career with Thomson Reuters. During his tenure there, he established the Thomson Reuters Enterprise business, responsible for data and technology operations for the Financial Markets business as CTO and most recently led the Thomson Reuters Financial Division, a global business with $6bn in revenue.

Peter Moss, CEO, SmartStream Reference Data Utility, states: “This is an exciting time for the RDU as we deliver the service for our customers. Industry demand for a reference data managed service has been significant and I can see excellent market potential for the RDU across a broad range of industry participants. I am delighted to take on this opportunity.”

The RDU was formed to deliver accurate and timely reference data for use in critical regulatory reporting and trade processing. Under his leadership, the RDU will facilitate collaboration within its growing client community to release the potential of a shared processing facility.
