WaveCrest Strengthens Executive Team With Three Senior Hires

WaveCrest, a digital payment solutions provider for global corporations and governments, today announces the appointment of three senior executives: Aaron Carpenter, Chief Legal and Risk Officer; Leigh AuCoin, Chief HR Officer; and Doug Lawson, Chief Customer Officer.

WaveCrest offers a complete suite of global cutting-edge digital payments solutions, based on a bank-grade, highly-configurable payments platform tailored to customers local preferences and location-based rules.

This year the company has invested across every department and every office location as the business continues to grow and expand worldwide. The three recruits are:

Aaron Carpenter - prior to joining as Chief Legal and Risk Officer, Aaron was a Director at Ramparts European Law Firm where he provided external legal counsel to a number of companies in the online gaming and payments industries, including WaveCrest, and, as part of his role, he has advised the firm since 2015 on a number of legal, regulatory, fundraising and other corporate matters. Prior to Ramparts, Aaron was Head of Legal Services at Gocompare.com.

Aaron will be responsible for all legal and compliance matters, as well as leading a new internal team, Partner Assurance, which will be responsible for ensuring that the firm’s business partners remain compliant with all policies set by WaveCrest and by their external stakeholders. 

Leigh AuCoin - joins from Cambridge Global Payments where she was responsible for HR and implemented improved processes and automation across five global locations. Before that, she worked for JLL, a financial and professional services firm, where she not only built and ran the core HR function but also oversaw a doubling of the company's headcount that included 250 hires in a single three month period.

Leigh will be responsible for WaveCrest’s global HR function and will lead their people strategy through the next phase of growth.

Doug Lawson - WaveCrest’s new Chief Customer Officer, joins from PayPal where he held various roles over eight years including Senior Director-Desktop Products & Operations; Director-Voice of Customer; and Director-Program Management, Global Products. Doug's contributions helped PayPal scale its global operations, support and product teams as the company grew to the $70 billion online payments leader that it is today.

Prior to PayPal, Doug was Director of Product & Program Management at Netflix and held various product and technology leadership roles at Capital One Financial Services. At WaveCrest he will help to develop and scale WaveCrest’s teams and processes across multiple customer touchpoints, including sales, marketing, account management, delivery, partner services and cardholder support.
