Women in Finance honored at Markets Media Markets Choice Awards
Vela Trading Technologies, a global leader in high performance trading and market data technology, announced that its CEO Jennifer Nayar, has won Markets Media’s Markets Choice Women in Finance award for Excellence in Trading Technology.
The awards recognize the most talented and accomplished women in multiple categories across the buy-side and sell-side trading desks, institutional investors, hedge funds, exchanges and technology providers and were awarded at the 2nd Annual Markets Choice Awards: Women in Finance luncheon last week.
Based in the firm’s New York headquarters, Jen joined Vela as its CEO in June 2015, responsible for all aspects of the firm’s business globally. Since joining the firm, Jen has been instrumental in growing the company’s products and client base as well as building a leadership team with global market data and technology expertise. She is also driving growth globally while leading initiatives that foster innovative next generation technology, leveraging the Cloud, and providing clients with more content and data including more coverage in asset classes such as fixed income and FX. In June, Jen was the leading mind behind the launch of the new brand, Vela.
Jen commented, “I am honored to have been recognized by Markets Media’s editorial team, their readership, and the Advisory Board. I am proud to be in the company of such accomplished women in our industry and I congratulate the winners in all the other categories.” She added, “At Vela, it is our goal to not only have women well represented throughout our organization, but also to make sure that our senior ranks are appropriately diverse. We encourage a supportive environment that empowers women to take on technology roles so that they have an opportunity to advance in their careers.”
Jen has also been named in Institutional Investor’s Top 40 in Trading Technology, announced earlier this year, and will be recognized at the iiFintech Symposium and Awards event on December 1.
