Founding member of ISITC and longstanding veteran of the financial services industry recognized for being advocate and contributor to ISITC
ISITC (The International Securities Association for Institutional Trade Communication), the industry trade group focused on standards in transaction processing and related communications, today announced at its 22nd ISITC Annual Industry Forum and Vendor Show that Bea Inigo, founding member of ISITC has been recognized with the ISITC Standard of Excellence Award.
The Standard of Excellence Award recognizes individuals who have both made a significant contribution to the industry and rendered exceptional service to ISITC, which is supported through the voluntary services of industry professionals. Ms. Inigo was selected as the recipient of this annual award due to her continued commitment and work for the organization she helped establish.
In 1991, a group of women from 15 investment managers and custodian banks joined together to find a solution for the operational challenges presented by mortgage-backed securities. They met monthly and in ten months developed a standard settlement message. Thus ISITC was born.
Ms. Inigo retired from SWIFT in 2013 after many years as an Senior Relationship Manager and is currently associated with ECS Financials. During her 25 years with ISITC, she served on the Board of Directors for twelve years.
“We are delighted to recognize Bea’s accomplishments in helping to build ISITC into the organization it is today,” comments Jeff Zoller, Chair of ISITC. “She has been a pioneer in creating standards that have positively impacted the progress of the financial industry, and we are thankful for her contribution.”
Ms. Inigo was chosen by a committee of select ISITC board members after reviewing several candidates, which was led by Jan E. Snitzer, immediate past chair. The award is given out each year at the ISITC Annual Forum and Vendor Show to an individual who continually supports the organization and the industry as a whole.
