Velocimetrics appoints Ambrotos as its dedicated distributor in South Korea

6 May 2015

Velocimetrics, the provider of real-time performance monitoring and analysis solutions to the global financial community, today announces it has appointed Ambrotos, a leading technology supplier of low latency trade infrastructure solutions in South Korea, as its official local distributor.

As an Asian market of growing importance, Ambrotos has been selected to represent Velocimetrics in South Korea due to its strong understanding of the local financial service community’s requirements.  Extending the existing relationship, that enables Ambrotos to distribute TipOff® and Application Tap®, which joined the Velocimetrics product suite in mid-2014, today’s announcement increases the portfolio’s scope to also include Velocimetrics, which is used by clients in multiple markets globally to achieve real-time operational oversight, through comprehensive monitoring and access to detailed, business-level, performance analytics.

For many firms gaining a real-time understanding of operational performance is becoming essential as evolving regulations call for greater transparency and controls, trading gets faster, strategies more sophisticated and capacity requirements continue to grow.  These developments, among others, have seen multiple Asian banks and exchanges invest in monitoring solutions such as TipOff in recent years, including KOSCOM, the Korean financial IT provider to the Korea Exchange (KRX). Committed to delivering clients a world-class trading service, KOSCOM uses TipOff to assure the availability of high quality and reliable connectivity.

The addition of Velocimetrics to the Ambrotos product range significantly expands the degree of business-level insight that will be available to clients keen to more effectively manage and control their environments, as Velocimetrics rapidly reveals potential risks, sources of inefficiency and exposure to financial loss, in addition to detailing the individual clients, payments, orders or trades impacted.

Commenting on this announcement, Yong Shin, CEO, Ambrotros stated:

‘We are delighted to be offering the full-spectrum of the Velocimetrics product suite to our South Korean clients.  Market needs are evolving and as local firms seek to play an increasingly prominent role in the wider Asian, and indeed global arena, demand is growing for tools that help them achieve a competitive edge.’
