Börse Berlin – Increase in Turnover and Trades

Börse Berlin completes 2015 with a total turnover of €69 billion (€54.6 billion/2014) – an increase of 26.4%. The number of trades grew substantially by 21.3% reaching 9.7 million (2014: eight million).

Obviously German retail investors discover equities as their preferred investment. In broker aided XONTRO turnover in these instruments increased by 63%, from €428 million to €693 million. The number of trades grew by 58% (2014: 87,350; 2015: 137,940). Across all instrument types the number of trades enlarged by 43.2%, from 165,362 in 2014 to 236,938 in 2015. Turnover decreased from €9 billion to €6 billion (-33.3%).

Equiduct, Börse Berlin´s pan-European market place, once again made a major increase in trading volume, which rose by 38% - from €45.6 billion in 2014 to €63 billion1. The number of trades increased from 7.9 million to 9.5 million1, a year-on-year-growth of 20%.
