The Irish Department of Justice and Equality has appointed Capita Managed IT Solutions to provide a managed service for up to five years.
Capita was selected following a competitive tender process run in conjunction with the Office for Government Procurement, and will provide the Department with an infrastructure service.
Capita, in partnership with Evros, will provide the Department with a solution utilising an ‘infrastructure as a service’ model, including all computer, storage and networking services. The Department will be supported by a dedicated on-site technical team; a Dublin-based help desk and 2nd line support team. The new service has been designed to utilise existing government resources and investment, including the Revenue Commissioner Data Centre. The model will enable other public sector bodies to benefit by ‘On-Boarding’ to the Department’s Shared ICT Service.
