Continuing its role as a leader in the financial services technology industry, FIS™ (NYSE: FIS), the world’s largest provider of banking and payments technology solutions and a global leader in consulting and outsourcing solutions, was named No. 1 on the 2014 FinTech Forward 100.
The FinTech Forward 100 is the inaugural listing of the world’s leading technology providers by American Banker and BAI; it was released today at the BAI Retail Delivery Conference in Chicago.
“This recognition is a reflection of the intense commitment our people make to serving our clients every day,” said Gary Norcross, president and COO, FIS. “The FinTech industry is incredibly competitive, meaning we must always be at the top of our game in order to remain the strategic technology partner our clients require. We value rankings like this because they show that our efforts at putting our clients first continue to pay off.”
To meet the growing needs of clients, FIS over the last year expanded its P2P payments capabilities, launched anintegrated prepaid and mobile solution offering to help financial institutions compete against alternative financial service providers and reach young and mobile customers, and introduced a risk management solution designed to respond to risks at their earliest stages. It also made significant investments and acquisitions in the areas of payments, wealth management and lending as it continued to innovate and drive client success.
“With its breadth of services and market penetration, FIS is demonstrating its success in financial services technology,” said Jeanne Capachin, founder and principal of Capachin Research, who analyzed submissions for BAI. “FIS tops our rankings and holds this place thanks to a wide range of solutions that institutions trust for their mission-critical businesses.”
FinTech Forward was created by two of banking’s top professional information and education organizations, American Banker and BAI, to identify the forces and trends that drive financial institutions to invest in technology. Rankings are determined by year-end revenues and the percentage of those revenues attributed to financial services, as validated by BAI.
