Agilent Technologies, a telco specialist, and secure-chip testing provider, Fime, are partnering on a range of testing tools for end user clients who want to introduce mobile payments and test the secure element and financial supply chain.
The link-up will target the payments and telecommunications markets, using the existing customer bases of Agilent and Fime as part of the joint initial marketing and outreach effort, with joint testing solutions to follow.
Commenting on the cooperation deal, Pascal Le Ray, general manager of Fime, said: “Over the past 12 months we have continued to open new test centres around the world to be closer to our stakeholders, better understand their needs and respond quickly to their requirements. We look forward to enhancing our product offering with Agilent as part of our on-going expansion and to meet the evolving demands of the industry.”
According to Joe DePond, vice president and general manager of Agilent’s mobile broadband operation, working together with Fime will provide test solutions to help customers deliver new products. “The next generation of smartphones is bringing mobile payment and mobile communications together and into the mainstream,” he added, explaining the rationale behind the deal.
