Certeco, a business technology change consultancy for the financial services, has today learned it has been shortlisted for the Personnel Today 2013 awards’ Youth Employment Initiative award for the Certeco Academy, its consultancy apprenticeship scheme.
The Academy, which has now created 36 consultancy posts for school and university leavers since its inception 12 months ago, was created in response to clients’ demands for innovative and fresh ways of working and a desire to keep business critical projects close to home. Certeco has been shortlisted for the youth employment award alongside eight other organisations.Additionally, Certeco’s HR manager, Mary Miller, has been shortlisted for an award in Personnel Today’s HR Newcomer of the Year category.
As Adam Ripley, chairman of Certeco comments: “We are delighted to be nominated for such a prestigious industry award. We are really proud at Certeco for what the Academy has achieved in such a short space of time. As an SME, we feel that British businesses, big and small, should be doing more in terms of employing young people – we feel like we’re doing our bit. And as HR manager, Mary has played an important role in helping us to get the Academy off the ground – we’re keeping our fingers crossed that Certeco and Mary will bring home the gold!”
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 18th November 2013.
