14 February 2013

As the European Commission prepares to launch its new cloud strategy, with the mission of facilitating faster adoption in the continent through the creation of new regulations and legislations, Francisco Garcia Moran, Director General of Informatics at the European Commission, will be leading the Public Sector Focus sessions at the 5th Annual Cloud World Forum.
The Strategy Theatre will host a combination of stand-alone presentations and panels, all dedicated to discussing the “Cloud strategy in the public sector”.

Understanding the importance of cloud adoption for governments and the public sector in general, the 5th Annual Cloud World Forum’s agenda will give special attention to the subject. Security, privacy and regulatory issues involving public cloud will be among the main topics to be explored at the Public Sector Focus sessions.

Francisco Garcia Moran will be joined by other prominent public sector speakers, including:

  • Joan Miller, Head of Parliamentary ICT, House of Parliament
  • Les O’Dea, Operations Director, Comic Relief
  • Kathy Monah, Head of IS, National Union of Teachers
  • Andrew Bull, Head of Live Services, HMRC
  • Andy Mulholland, Director, British Computer Society Policy Board

Together, these experts will be able to paint a clear picture about the current stage of cloud adoption in governments and the public sector, outlining the advantages and transformations it could bring.
