Bank of America has announced that customers who qualify for the Platinum Privileges® program with their Bank of America bank and Merrill Edge investment accounts will receive 30 commission-free online equity and ETF trades per month within their Merrill Edge self-directed brokerage accounts, as well as complimentary access to Merrill Edge MarketPro™.

In order to qualify for Platinum Privileges status, customers will need to maintain $50,000 or more in combined balances in Bank of America deposit accounts and/or Merrill Edge investment accounts and have an active Bank of America personal checking account or an eligible Merrill Edge brokerage account.[1]

“Giving Bank of America’s Platinum Privileges customers who open a Merrill Edge self-directed account 30 commission-free online equity and ETF trades per month along with complimentary access to Merrill Edge MarketPro™ is a great way to recognize and reward customers who do more business with Bank of America and Merrill Edge,” said Alok Prasad, head of Merrill Edge. “We are continually innovating and listening to our customers to develop new ways to provide them with outstanding value and convenience.”

In addition to making Platinum Privileges customers eligible for 30 commission-free online equity and ETF trades per month, Merrill Edge customers who have $25,000 in Bank of America deposit accounts or cash in Merrill Edge self-directed investment accounts will continue to receive 30 commission-free online equity and ETF trades per month.

Platinum Privileges customers will also receive complimentary access to Merrill Edge MarketPro™, a real-time market analysis and trading platform for self-directed investors.[2] The platform provides clients with real-time market analysis for greater control over every trade, customization and features including integrated trading, account information, streaming market data and interactive charting, and access to BofA Merrill Lynch Global Research, ranked No. 1 by Institutional Investor magazine.[3]

“We are excited to make more features available to our Platinum Privileges customers,” said Aron Levine, Preferred channel executive for Bank of America. “We will continue to expand our offerings to make sure these customers understand the value of doing business with Bank of America and Merrill Edge.”
