Company Receives 2012 Global Product Differentiation Excellence Award in Traffic Visibility Solutions Market by Frost & Sullivan
Gigamon®, a world leader in Traffic Visibility Fabric solutions, announced that the company has been presented with the 2012 Global Product Differentiation Excellence Award in the traffic visibility solutions market by Frost & Sullivan. The award is independent, third-party recognition of Gigamon’s accomplishments in delivering superior technology and products to the traffic visibility solutions market.
“Selecting Gigamon as the recipient of the 2012 Global Product Differentiation Excellence Award reflects the significant role we play in delivering solutions that enable consistent network visibility for enterprises, data centres and service providers around the world,” said Ted Ho, Gigamon CEO. “As virtual network environments and mobile workspaces become the norm, companies need effective solutions to intelligently monitor, manage and secure their infrastructure. We’re very pleased that Frost & Sullivan has recognised our innovation and leadership.”
This independent award is determined by Frost & Sullivan’s proprietary analytical tool, called the Decision Support Matrix (DSM), which benchmarked Gigamon’s performance against others in the market with specific attention to unique features of the solution, functionality, quality, match to target market needs and brand perception of the product offering. The DSM allows Frost & Sullivan’s research and consulting teams to objectively analyse each company's performance and assign weighted performance ratings.
Through this process, Frost & Sullivan determined that a strong focus on product differentiation with innovative and focused research and development, an international footprint through its elite customers, and highly noteworthy growth over the years have given Gigamon a leading edge over its competitors. In addition, Gigamon’s highly innovative, scalable, efficient and cost effective GigaVUE product line creates a highly scalable and all-inclusive visibility fabric, which, according to the DSM, competing companies in the market environment are unable to offer.
“With constantly increasing complexity of networks and industry’s shift towards cloud-based services, there is a need for solutions capable of handling distinct traffic types and filtering the data sent to monitoring tools. Gigamon’s GigaVUE is a highly scalable solution capable of delivering high performance and broader visibility across the network. In addition, Gigamon’s GigaVUE is effective for virtual network environments because of its capacity to receive traffic, aggregate it and then filter it prior to forwarding to the APMs, NPMs, recording systems, and other analytical tools,” stated Olga Yashkova, North American communications test & measurement programme manager at Frost & Sullivan.
