In accordance with a comprehensive review by the CII, delegates attending Open GI’s Product Clinics from September onwards, will be able to claim up to 5 hours’ worth of Continual Professional Development (CPD).
On the 2 July 2012, the CII enhanced its member CPD scheme, replacing the credit-based system, with an hours-based scheme. Members can choose to remain on the credit-based system until the end of the year, although they must transfer to the new system by 1 January 2013.
The Open GI Product Clinics are designed to help brokers use their trading systems more efficiently. Expert trainers are on hand to demonstrate the advantages of the software and keep delegates up to date and aware of new developments that are available.
Scot Grimmer, Broker Academy Manager, CII, said: “The CII’s dedication to professional learning continues to expand in 2012, with more and more brokers seeing the benefit in membership, qualifications and Chartered status. The award of CPD Accreditation adds value to Open GI’s events, for example, by helping to publicise relevant, high quality learning.”
“Open GI’s Product Clinics have been awarded CII CPD Accreditation to reflect their quality and their relevance to meeting the professional development needs of their clients.”
Simon Hughes, Sales and Marketing Director, Open GI, commented: “Continual Professional Development is fundamental to staff training and knowledge, and it is vital for an organisation to invest in its staff to maintain a competitive edge. Our Product Clinics provide excellent networking opportunities for delegates to ask questions and share information with other brokers, and we are proud that this is the fifth successful year they have been accredited by the CII.”
