Callataÿ & Wouters Receive 'Leader' Status in Gartner's 2011 International Retail Core Banking Magic Quadrant for the Third Time in a Row

Brussels - 3 October 2011

For the third year in a row, Callataÿ & Wouters, a leading provider of core banking software and services, confirmed its position as ‘Leader’ in Gartner’s International Retail Core Banking Magic Quadrant*. Gartner cited Callataÿ & Wouters’ implementation track record, active involvement in industry groups and the quality of its flagship software solution as key factors.

Yearly, Gartner evaluates vendors in the International Retail Core Banking Magic Quadrant in terms of their ability to execute, and the completeness of their vision. Callataÿ & Wouters entered the Magic Quadrant as a ‘Challenger’ in 2008, and moved to ‘Leader’ in 2009. 2011 marks the third year in a row that the company is recognized as ‘Leader’.

Key to the successful evaluation of Callataÿ & Wouters was its flagship product, Thaler. Other factors that contributed to Callataÿ & Wouters’ position as ‘Leader’ are its driven membership of organisations such as BIAN and its consistent track record of product and implementation quality.

“We are very pleased with the third time we receive this important recognition,” comments Marc De Groote, CEO of Callataÿ & Wouters, “It shows that we are pursuing the right strategies and that we are highly consistent in the execution of these strategies. Gartner’s independent recognition of our work is an inspiration for us to keep excelling at what we do best.”

Thaler is core banking software that comprises over 300 modules and more than 10,000 services. It offers broad compatibility with third-party solutions – also known as ‘service-oriented architecture’ – and runs on major platforms such as IBM z/OS and SAP NetWeaver. Thaler is a scalable solution that includes functionality for deposits, loans, securities, treasury and payments as well as multi-channel distribution modules. It is designed to run either as an end-to-end solution, covering the entire range of core banking activities, or on a modular basis to support individual lines of business.
