The service gives guaranteed sub-2 millisecond data backhaul between central London and NGD Europe, using Next Connexâs fully diverse, resilient fibre network. This enables customers in financial services, media production, and other sectors that demand lowest latency and maximum data capacity to take full advantage of NGD Europeâs remote high-security location, scalable low-cost space, and unprecedented renewable power facilities.
Next Connexâs fibre network spans the south of England and links directly to Internet hubs including London Telehouse North and Telecity Harbour Exchange. In addition to NGD Europe, it connects to 40 UK data centres, giving sub-2ms transit between any of these facilities, and enabling access to over 250 UK service providers and carriers, giving customers secure, carrier-neutral connectivity over diverse routes.
Craig Denton, CEO of Next Connex said: âOur high-speed, ultra-low latency connectivity service is specifically aimed at applications such as algorithmic and high frequency trading, media rendering and other data-intensive processes.
âWith sub-2ms latency to Europeâs largest Tier 3+ data centre, companies can benefit from high performance and advanced hosting services without needing to be close to the City of London. It will save money compared with rival hosting options, as well as offering the scalability to cope with periods of high demand.â
Simon Taylor, chairman of Next Generation Data Limited said: "This high-capacity, low-latency connectivity service removes the final barrier that often stops companies moving out of overcrowded, high cost data centres in the London area. Organisations can now take full advantage of NGD Europe's lower space costs, unmatched power resources and lower exposure to potential security threats without compromising network performance.â
The NGD data centre is Europeâs newest, largest and most technically advanced, Tier 3+ facility. It has direct connections to a power sub-station, giving 180 MVA of supply with full backup resources. It is the only Tier 3 data centre outside of London with no planned downtime.
