Fee Tweeter is part of the bank's fairfees.ca initiative, which ING says is encouraging Canadians to speak up about fair and unfair service levies.
Users with Twitter accounts can tweet to @FeeTweeter. They will receive a direct message every two weeks giving their total fees tweeted to date. They can also view the total by logging on to a website, FeeTweeter.fairfees.ca.
Those not registered with Twitter can log on to a guest account.
The Fee Tweeter stream will display posts from other users commenting on their fees, allowing customers to compare what they are paying.
ING Direct president and chief executive Peter Aceto said the bank had decided to launch an online space for discussing savings and bank fees after monitoring customers' feedback via Facebook and Twitter.
"As a leading online bank, it makes sense that we'd help Canadians talk about their savings in the same space," he commented.
Twitter was launched in August 2006.
