XIRING receives the Banking/Finance/Retail ‘Sesame innovation Award’ at ‘Cartes 2008’

4 November 2008

XIRING, a security solutions provider for remote transactions, has received a ‘Sesame Innovation Award’ from a jury of experts for its Xi-Sign Wallet in the “Banking/Finance/Commerce” category.

Organised as part of the ‘CARTES & IDentification 2008’ trade show, the ‘Sesame Innovation Awards’ are now the world reference and unchallenged hallmark of innovative excellence in the smartcard and identification industry. Since its creation in 1998 and its first entry in the competition in 1999, XIRING has been nominated as a finalist 25 times, with 9 XIRING solutions having already received a ‘Sesame Innovation Award’. Once again this year, out of 233 entries that were submitted to the jury, two XIRING entries reached the final stages of the competition, proof of the company’s continuing capacity to develop innovative smart card solutions.

XIRING has received the ‘Sesame Award’ for innovation in the “Banking / Finance / Commerce” category for its Xi-Sign Wallet.

Xi-Sign Wallet is a slim, card-sized, mobile solution that manages contact and contactless EMV functions: authentication, electronic signature, contactless payment services, balance and transaction log displays. This standalone device enables users to use their payment card easily and safely.

“Innovation is a key success factor in our industry. With this ‘Sesame Award’, XIRING has once again been rewarded for its continuous efforts in the field of research. I am delighted to see that we continue to offer innovative technical solutions which pave the way for future means of payment and which are recognised by the industry’s leading experts”, said Georges Liberman, CEO of XIRING.
