The award was one of 18 best practice categories awarded by a judging panel that included business and financial media, and users of financial reporting and accounts. Their comments about the GlobeOp site highlighted the quality and depth of company and financial content, intuitive navigation and ease of visitor engagement.
In addition to investor-related communications, the "Best Practice Corporate Website" award took a broader view, according to Peregrine Riviere, society chairman.
"Websites are a first port of call for most people who are interested in finding out about a company. We are particularly looking for innovation and ease of use - not just volumes of information." The UK Investor Relations Society was established in 1980, has over 600 members from the UK and overseas, and includes the majority of the FTSE 100 and much of the FTSE 250.
