Portfolio Management Institute (PMI) has launched its Certified Portfolio Manager Program to provide a deeper understanding of fundamental security analysis, asset allocation, and portfolio management concepts. Each candidate must successfully complete 54 selected Zoologic web-based courses encompassing core finance concepts such as: Quantitative Methods, Financial Statement Analysis, Corporate Finance, Fixed Income Analysis, Equity Analysis, Derivatives, and Portfolio Management.
Upon completion of the Zoologic courses candidates will be invited to the New York academic seminar at the Industrial Engineering and Operations Research (IEOR) Department at Columbia University in June 2009. The IEOR Department at Columbia University offers one of the top quantitative graduate programs in Financial Engineering, led by Dr. Emanuel Derman. The academic component of the Certified Portfolio Manager (CPM) credentialing process is designated by the Curriculum Committee of PMI.
"We are very proud to offer the Zoologic courses as part of the credentialing process," said Mike Ross, Past President, Chair, Curriculum Committee of Portfolio Management Institute. "The evaluation process of each Zoologic course has enabled us to create an academic program and credentialing process currently unavailable elsewhere in the marketplace. This investment in the recently debuted Certified Portfolio Manager Program provides participating portfolio managers the real-world tools they need to remain competitive."
"Our relationship with PMI signifies Zoologicâs ongoing strategy to work with institutions and associations in furthering the credentials of finance professionals," said Bill Stone, Chairman and CEO, SS&C Technologies, Inc.
