The three winners are:
⢠A three-tiered distributed Web architecture built by Regions Bank to cope with rapid growth. The Web site was re-architected in anticipation of the major boost in site traffic that would result from last yearâs merger between Regions and AmSouth. The new site not only provides enormous flexibility to scale, but adds significant security to the much larger Web operation. The new site involves a .NET-based content management system and an architecture that involves separate tiers for presentation, business logic and data. The bank has also incorporated Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) into a working prototype of the site to explore future ways to improve resource utilization, management of network traffic, responsiveness and its ability to add extra layers of security.
⢠An enterprise class spreadsheet management solution to improve compliance and mitigate operational risk for mission-critical spreadsheets and Access databases. The Prodiance solution was designed to meet auditor guidance for spreadsheet controls and delivers a comprehensive life-cycle approach, from discovery, inventory, and risk analysis, to management, workflow automation and monitoring. The Prodiance solution discovers and creates an inventory of spreadsheets and Access databases located throughout an organizationâs network; performs diagnostic analysis; and migrates the spreadsheets to secure Office SharePoint Server 2007 libraries. The system provides an audit trail and includes pro-active alerts on changes. Windows Workflow Foundation (WWF) automates review and approval processes.
⢠A next-generation customer interaction management solution built on .NET and delivered exclusively on Microsoftâs Windows Server and SQL Server. Fiservâs Aperio offers banks an advanced solution for managing customer interactions through the branch and call center. Business process management technology streamlines sales and service operations to improve efficiency and optimize the customer experience. Where fulfillment work stems from customer interactions, Aperio manages workflow end-to-end across banksâ front, middle and back offices. Integration with multiple back-end systems brings together customer and product information in a 360 degree view of customer relationships.
âIn todayâs competitive market, banks are concerned more than ever with acquiring, retaining and extending their relationships with customers,â said Tracy Issel, general manager for Microsoftâs U.S. Financial Services Group. âTechnology can help solve this problem by empowering employees with the right tools and familiar software to dramatically improve service and selling opportunities. We applaud Regions Bank, Prodiance and Fiserv for their work to innovate on the Microsoft software platform.â
