Algo Risk to Support Sun Microsystems’ Solaris 10 OS on x64 Platform

Toronto, Canada – 27 March 2007

Algorithmics today announced that the latest version of Algo Risk will be made available on Sun Microsystems’ SolarisTM 10 Operating System (OS) running on Sun Fire™ x64 (x86, 64-bit) servers. This move enables Algorithmics clients to implement Algo Risk on grids of high-performance, industry-leading AMD Opteron™ processor-based servers running the Solaris 10 OS.

“At Algorithmics we engineer our solutions for peak performance on leading operating systems. Many of our clients rely on the Solaris 10 OS for its proven performance and flexibility and we’re committed to supporting this respected platform,” said Michael Zerbs, President and Chief Operating Officer at Algorithmics.

The Sun Fire x64 server line utilizes Dual-Core AMD Opteron processors to deliver enhanced performance and manageability for mission-critical applications running on the Solaris 10 OS. Collaborative engineering between Algorithmics and Sun keeps the performance of Algo Risk optimized on Sun servers and helps ensure hassle-free implementation of an integrated software and hardware solution for customers.

“We are pleased that Algorithmics has chosen to optimize Algo Risk for the Solaris 10 OS running on Sun's x64 servers,” said Juan Carlos Soto, vice president, market development for Sun Microsystems. “Enterprises demanding optimized and robust computing, network and Web applications will find that the combination of the Solaris 10 OS running on x64 servers will deliver best-in-class performance that drives business value while reducing IT operating costs.”

Algorithmics also announced Sun as a sponsor of the Algorithmics Risk Conference 2007 to be held in Cannes this September.
