Strategic acquisition in software asset management

England, York - 1 August 2007

Leading software licensing experts Trustmarque Solutions has acquired specialist software asset management consultancy SAMpartners. The acquisition is a cash-and-shares deal for an undisclosed sum.

SAMpartners will continue to retain a separate identity within Trustmarque solutions and will continue to use the SAMpartners name. Under the deal, SAMpartners managing director Tony Fisher will continue to play a leading role.

Ross Miller, managing director of Trustmarque Solutions says, ‘This is a strategic acquisition for Trustmarque. We are one of the largest software licensing companies in the UK and software asset management fits hand-in-glove with what we do. We’ve been working closely with SAMpartners for the past three years very successfully and we see this move as timely in that organisations are now, more than ever, recognising the importance of managing their software assets effectively.’

Trustmarque is one of the largest software resellers in the UK market and has supply contracts with all the major markets. Every large organisation spends a great deal of money on software each year and this asset is now seen to have a significant value which has to be managed. With the acquisition of SAMPartners we will be able to offer our customers a significant range of Software Asset Management services designed to give them greater control over valuable assets and the opportunity to save money.

Says Tony Fisher, ‘Managing their software assets well is the one area where almost all large enterprises can sharpen up their act - and often save money too. SAMpartners has established a reputation for effective software asset management over the past three years and now, with Trustmarque Solutions, we have the full weight of one of Britain’s biggest software licensing companies behind us.’
