TEMENOS Group (SWX: TEMN), the provider of integrated core banking systems, today announced the appointment of Peter McKenna as marketing director. Peter comments: “Over the past few years, I’ve observed TEMENOS consistently secure a high share of the market with its advanced products and establish itself as a global brand. The core banking market has now reached a crucial turning point and I look forward to playing a pivotal role in leveraging TEMENOS’ strong position to further grow the business and address the needs of each market segment.”

His career includes senior management roles at Reuters in sales, business administration and product management, e-business director at QSP Financial Information Systems and head of investor services and transactions at Interactive Investor International. He also held the position of marketing director at Misys Asset Management Systems from 2002 and was most recently marketing and then sales director at Gissing Software. In this time Peter has accumulated knowledge and proven senior management expertise across all areas in product, marketing and sales management.

Andreas Andreades, CEO, TEMENOS, adds: “TEMENOS has grown tremendously over the past few years in terms of client acquisition, revenue and organisational structure. In this time, we’ve invested in our technology, built a strong brand and established valuable relationships with clients, prospects and industry players. It’s now time to move to the next level and with Peter on board we can accelerate our global go-to-market strategy and secure our position as the true leader in this space.”

According to the latest International Banking Systems sales league table, published in March 2006, TEMENOS has the largest core banking client base in the world with a stated 600 live sites. The company continues to attract global tier 1 and regional banks as a result of its superior products, TEMENOS T24â„¢ and TEMENOS COREBANKING.
