GigaSpaces, Inc. announced today that Gartner, Inc. positioned the company in the visionaries quadrant in its âMagic Quadrantâ analysis of the Enterprise Application Servers (EAS) market. GigaSpaces is the inventor of space-based architectures which easily and robustly scale complex business-critical applications. Space-based architecture is a new paradigm that incorporates, in a holistic approach, many of the emerging trends in the IT industry, including grid computing and services-oriented architecture (SOA). GigaSpaces is the first software provider that embeds space-based computing principles into a software platform, enabling organizations to get linear scalability and continuous availability from their existing application environments.
CEO Yaron Benvenisti said, âWe are very pleased to have been positioned in the visionaries quadrant in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for EAS. We believe it clearly demonstrates that our distinct space-based model and its holistic approach are being well-acknowledged in the market.â
Of the EAS space, Gartner said: âApplication server technology is the basis of business applications. This market is evolving to address changes in business application architectures. Service-oriented architecture, open-source software, event-driven architecture and high-end extreme transaction processing are the key drivers.â
GigaSpaces was evaluated across all nine Gartner criteria for completeness of vision, as stated in its August, 2006 report, Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Application Servers, 2Q06 by Yefim Natis, Massimo Pezzini, Kimihiko Iijima and Michael Barnes. These nine factors range from advanced web services support, impactful web innovation, and business process composition to ultra-high-end extreme transaction processing, productivity for developers, internal microkernel-style (pluggable) architecture, and support of deployment on hardware grids.
