Russ-Bank to implement an in-house processing center based on BPC SmartVista Suite

BPC Company, a leading provider of EFT and retail banking solutions, announced that Russ-Bank, Russia, had committed to the SmartVista Suite of software products as an IT platform to support the bank’s card business countrywide.
Within the project an in-house processing centre will be implemented, that will allow Russ-Bank to effectively manage card enabled delivery channels, to support innovative card based products and new retail services for individuals and small businesses, thus facilitating further geographical expansion of the bank’s card business.

The SmartVista Suite will also provide facilities to support cross-sales of retail products in the framework of Russ-Bank’s joint initiative with insurance Holding Company “Rossgosstrakh”. Benefiting from the integration of financial and insurance services, Russ-Bank will be able to offer co-brand cards to Rosgosstrakh’s policyholders, that will help attract new customers and increase the range of available services. Russ-Bank’s customers already enjoy a range of discounts and preferences applied to Rossgosstrakh’s voluntary insurance policies.

Russ-Bank’s in-house processing center will be based on the BPC SmartVista Suite: SmartVista Front-End switching system, SmartVista Back-Office card management system and SmartVista CardGen card production system. The SmartVista functionality, implemented within the project, will allow the bank to issue and acquire cards of Visa and Master Card international payment schemes and to support innovative card based financial products, such as Instant Issue cards, credit cards with overdraft, revolving credit cards, etc.

The in-house processing center deployment will much contribute to the bank’s business strategy aimed at creating a fully-fledged retail banking infrastructure through the aggressive expansion of branch network in Russia’s regions and big industrial cities. Due to the unique combination of SmartVista scalability and flexibility, Russ-Bank will be able to make card services widely available in all its retail outlets, to open self-service branches and to launch regional card programs, all through a single IT platform.
