DemandTec Selects Insightful's S-PLUS® Platform for Consumer-Centric Merchandising and Marketing Analytics

Insightful Corporation (NASDAQ:IFUL), a leading provider of predictive analytics and reporting solutions, today announced that DemandTec, Inc., the leading provider of Consumer-Centric Merchandising, Sales and Marketing solutions for the retail and consumer products industries, will deploy Insightful’s S-PLUS® software platform for DemandTec’s analytics and reporting solutions and for the prototyping of new solutions.

DemandTec, headquartered in San Carlos, California, selected Insightful’s S-PLUS after a thorough evaluation of all commercially available statistical and analytics software packages. The company will use S-PLUS for analysis of customer data as well as for prototyping scientific methodologies that support DemandTec’s pricing and promotion optimization software offering. DemandTec replaced its prior statistical analysis software package with S-PLUS because of S-PLUS’ superior flexibility in prototyping and deploying analytics while maintaining system performance.
