To Better Meet Customersâ Credit Needs
SAN FRANCISCO, January , 2006 - Moody's KMV, the worldâs leading provider of quantitative credit risk measurement and management solutions to lenders, investors and corporations, today announced that Brian Ranson, founder of the International Association of Credit Portfolio Management, has joined the Company as Managing Director in the newly formed Credit Strategies Group. Moodyâs KMV also announced the creation of the Credit Strategies Group and the Credit Risk Specialists team, both of which will focus on providing thought leadership and best practices to customers worldwide.

Credit Strategies Group
The Credit Strategies Group is comprised of Moodyâs KMV credit risk experts who will maintain the firmâs position as the thought leader in the area of credit risk and portfolio management. Dr. Jeffrey Bohn is named Managing Director of Global Research and Credit Strategies and leads the new group.
Brian Ranson, most recently Senior Vice President of Bank of Montreal, brings tremendous experience to the new group. Mr. Ranson has a global reputation as a pioneer in the introduction of modern portfolio theory to the management of credit risk banking and authored the industry-renowned Credit Risk Management. He founded and was the first chairman of the International Association of Credit Portfolio Management and is an emeritus member of the National Association of Asset/Liability Management. Other senior members of the Credit Strategies Group include Brian Dvorak, Martha Sellers and William Morokoff, who represent many years of industry experience.

Credit Risk Specialists team
The Credit Risk Specialists team, comprised of Moodyâs KMV professionals who have deep knowledge of the firmâs credit risk solutions, will partner with account representatives to provide superior customer service. In the Americas, the team reports to David Merrill, Managing Director and in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific to Managing Director Gavin Style. Mr. Merrill and Mr. Style joined Moodyâs KMV in 2005.

Mr. Merrill was most recently with Omgeo, a global post-trade securities processing firm, where he was Managing Director of Global Operations and chaired the operating committee in addition to being responsible for sales, customer support, product management and marketing.
Mr. Style was most recently with Sungard's Front Capital Systems, a provider of trading risk management solutions to investment banks and hedge funds, where he was a Managing Director responsible for sales, support and professional services for clients across EMEA.
