Burlington, MA and London â October 31, 2005 â Charles River Development, a leading provider of financial software to the global investment management community, today announced that it has completed a three and one half week implementation of the Charles River Investment Management System (Charles River IMS) for SVG Capitalâs public equity team in London. SVG Capitalâs public equity team manages £300 million in UK equity and exchange traded funds. Charles River IMS is a comprehensive front- and middle-office software suite for portfolio management and modelling (Charles River Manager), order management and electronic trading (Charles River Trader), real-time compliance monitoring (Charles River Compliance), and centralised post-trade communications (Charles River Settlements). SVG Capital has offices in London and Boston.
"After reviewing a variety of order management vendors, we chose Charles River due to its ability to implement a cost effective investment management solution that provides superior functionality across portfolio management, trading, and compliance. In addition, we required a cost-effective solution which is scalable enough for the firmâs expected growth in business and trade volume â Charles River IMS was clearly the choice," said Davor Vlahovic, head of IT at SVG Capital. "In less than one week we improved our workflow efficiencies by leveraging real-time fund analysis, electronic order generation and tracking capabilities, and the seamless interface for our Bloomberg real-time pricing feeds â eliminating the use of time consuming manual processes."
"We are also pleased with the customised cash and position reconciliation reports facilitating the communication of reconciliation to our multiple fund administrators. Communications with our brokers have also improved due to the ability to electronically communicate our block order tickets directly from Charles River IMS, reducing our reliance on error prone faxes," said Vlahovic.
