Geneva - Global information company Reuters, (LSE:RTR, NASDAQ:RTRSY) today announce that Swiss private bank Pictet & Cie have selected 50 positions of Reuters Trader for use by their relationship management group. Reuters won the contract in a competitive selection process over five other vendors.

Reuters Trader delivers international market data (quotes, news, fundamentals), pricing tools, and analytics via powerful lightweight desktops which are designed to provide simple user navigation.

Of the 50 positions of Reuters Trader, 41 are upgrades from the existing RMM service and remaining 9 are new positions which have ousted competitive products. The positions will be used in Pictet’s offices in Switzerland, with the intention to roll out further positions to other European and overseas branches.

Reuters Trade will be used by Pictet as their mid-tier information service with global market coverage for their client facing private bankers. Reuters was selected following an evaluation at Pictet by a group including relationship managers, asset managers, back-office users and market data managers.

Mr. Mermoux, head of Markets Data at Pictet comments: "In our competitive selection process, Reuters scored highly on all counts. Our users were particularly impressed by Reuters Trader’s ease of access through the newspaper-like display, and the in-depth market data access and news that it provides. The solution is also appealing due to its light delivery infrastructure.

"We have always received quality training and support from Reuters and, as a global vendor with a local presence, they proved a natural choice for us once more."

Jan-René Dolfing Managing Director for Reuters Switzerland, comments: "As Pictet are already users of our premium desktop, Reuters 3000 Xtra, we are very pleased to extend our relationship with them to provide them with a solution for their mid-tier information requirements."
