FinancialContent, Inc. [FCON] , a leading provider of financial data and business applications to online media and financial services companies worldwide, today announced a major initiative to expand its operations in China.
FinancialContent will open an office in Shanghai in order to build a competitive newsroom and wire service that track the expansion of U.S. companies into China and the reciprocal penetration of Chinese companies into the U.S. market.
"We believe that our first foray into original content development will be successful due to the fact that we can readily syndicate the content across the more than 300 financial channel deployments already under our management," said Wing Yu, CEO of FinancialContent. "We will also launch an online newsletter subscription service for corporate executives and investment professionals interested in China."
To complete its business editorial coverage of China, FinancialContent will partner with several global media companies and content providers that specialize in China-based market data and corporate news.
In addition, FinancialContent will use the Shanghai office to support its network of channel partners throughout Asia.
The Shanghai office will be located at Plaza 66 Office Tower, a newly developed 66-story super high-rise, class A office building designed to meet the requirements of multi-national companies.
