LONDON/ZURICH (Feb. 28, 2005)—Telekurs Financial today signed an agreement for Dow Jones Newswires, the world’s leading independent provider of real-time financial and business news, to supply the first news service offered as a standard feature on Telekurs iD—its new financial-information terminals—from March 2005.

Zurich-based Telekurs Financial, one of Europe’s leading market data vendors, will provide an enhanced version of "Dow Jones Business News Europe"—which offers real-time coverage of European companies, economies and politics, as well as extensive international news—to all users of its new generation Telekurs iD terminals throughout Europe and Asia. Prior to this date, news services only have been available on an optional basis on Telekurs platforms.

In addition, Telekurs iD users in Europe will have access to real-time, local-market news in the local language. A number of optional services from Dow Jones also will be available. The bundled services will provide up to 500 news items daily, and hundreds of additional items will be available on the optional services.

While Dow Jones news has been available on an optional basis since 2002, this is the first time Telekurs has appointed a bundled news provider for its terminals, which are used by private bankers and investment advisers. The content from Dow Jones Newswires will be available solely on the new Telekurs iD terminals in Europe and Asia, which are gradually replacing its existing Finvest and FinXS products.

"We are delighted to be providing critical content to Telekurs Financial for its new generation of financial-data terminals," said Michael Bergmeijer, vice president, international sales and marketing, Dow Jones Newswires. "Our combination of global and regional real-time news with domestic market services in local languages enables us to provide Telekurs customers with a new information source that has been tailored to their specific needs."

"The bundled services are configured exactly to meet the information requirements of the different financial markets of our subsidiaries in Europe and Asia. In our display product—Telekurs iD—quotes, corporate actions and other financial information are directly interlinked," said Fritz Hediger, head of marketing and sales at Telekurs Financial. "Together with business news, this offers a real advantage for Telekurs Financial’s customers."

As part of the agreement, Dow Jones Newswires and Telekurs Financial will hold a series of joint events this year to introduce their new partnership to customers.

The two companies also recently launched a bundled English-language news package on Pocket iD—a Blackberry®-delivered service. The "Dow Jones Business News Europe" wire and Dow Jones’ "European Equities Spotlight"—a corporate news and stock market reports service—are available to all Pocket iD users. Additional services, including DJ Bourse CAC 40—Dow Jones Newswires’ French-language international financial news service—are available on an optional basis.
