TietoEnator to transfer on-site support staff to Manpower

TietoEnator Corporation Press Release 20 April 2005 1.00 PM EET

TietoEnator is to transfer its on-site support staff in Finland to Manpower from 1.5.2005. TietoEnator will remain the main interface towards customers and Manpower will act as TietoEnator's subcontractor for these services. The transaction has no influence on TietoEnator's net sales.

Under the agreement, 71 on-site support staff from TietoEnator's Processing & Network operation will move to Manpower as 'old' employees. The agreement does not apply to on-site support staff employed by joint ventures Primasoft, TietoEnator Broadcasting IT or Tietokesko.

TietoEnator has built a service package for the electronic workplace on the basis of customer needs and the latest technology. The globally delivered service relies on high levels of know-how, integration with TietoEnator's client sector-specific services, and efficiently delivered, focused remote services.

A partner was needed to provide on-site support for the electronic workplace service package, one that could produce on-site support services in a broader geographical context when so commissioned, and adapt swiftly to changes in volumes and working environments. When the demands of the industry changed that partner would also have to be able to predict trends in local services and adapt to its own business models quickly.

"The aim of the transfer is to establish a model of cooperation where the parties' goals are very much mutually compatible. TietoEnator is streamlining its processes, focusing on its core business operations and moving its customers higher up in the value chain. Each party's purpose is to concentrate its business operations in key areas of the core business," says Vice President Baard Eilertsen of TietoEnator. In the Baltic countries TietoEnator will continue its on-site service operation managed by its affiliates.

"Our long experience of resourcing specialist functions and employing IT experts brings obvious added value to the services we deliver to our customers," says Fredrik Karlsson, Managing Director of Manpower Finland. "Delivering these types of support services is our core skill and, as partner, we will be involved in developing our customers' business."
