Integration Consortium Launches Award for Excellence Designation to be Profiled at the 2005 Global Integration Summit

London, November 8th, 2004 - The Integration Consortium (IC) today announced the 2005 Global Integration Summit with the theme as "Real World Integration - Steps to Success". Two new features of the 2005 Summit from 23 - 25 May are the IC Integration Solution Provider Award for Excellence designation and the real time Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Integration Showcase.

The SOA Integration Showcase is a live challenge that allows integration solution vendors to stand and deliver a SOA/Web services solution built from start to finish during the Summit. All participants successfully completing the challenge will receive an IC Integration Solution Provider Award for Excellence, with one participant receiving the prestigious IC Integration Solution Provider Award for Excellence - Premier Solution Provider of 2005.

"The Summit theme comes as a result of feedback from the Global EAI Summit 2004. Overwhelming, attendee feedback was in support of education and solution development in the synergetic environment of the 2004 event", states David Linthicum, CTO of Grand Central Communications, who has been appointed as Chair of the Global Integration Summit 2005. David is a renowned thought leader in the integration arena and will be looking to drive the theme of "Real World Integration - Steps to Success".

David adds, "End-users have an unbelievable number of SOA/Web services solutions to choose from in today's market and finding the one solution that best meets their needs is challenging. The Integration Consortium continuously finds new and innovative ways for vendors and end-users to work together in an environment that gives both parties the opportunity to communicate and together achieve best of breed solutions. The live SOA/Web services showcase is designed to achieve positive results for the integration community by creating a complete SOA/Web services solution that is tested and judged by the very people who invest in and implement these solutions - the end-users. We look forward to reviewing the recommended solutions from the best and brightest in this sector and we know the challenge is going to bring out the best in our participants."

The Integration Consortium is inviting integration leaders to participate in the Global Integration Summit Call for Presentations. The Call for Presentations includes abstracts, case studies and whitepapers where, as last year, the chosen papers will be included in a whitepaper competition with three cash awards for the finest papers and presentations of those papers. Entries need to address the Summit's 2005 theme of Real World Integration with content and submission details located on the Summit website www.globalintegrationsummit.com

Michael Kuhbock, Founder and Co-Chairman of the Integration Consortium adds "We are delighted that David has accepted the position of Chair for the Global Integration Summit 2005 and we look forward to him building on the success of the 2004 Global EAI Summit. The positive feedback received from last year's international participants has positioned the 2005 Summit and program as a true value proposition for all of the attendees."
