Local events will be held in Asia, the UK, and the US next month.
Organized in partnership with the International Petroleum Exchange (IPE), the Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM), and the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), the Commodities Road Show will target local exchange members, as well as non-members. The intent of the Road Show is to educate the financial community on trading opportunities on local and foreign commodities markets. Each participating exchange will present its market and trading specifics, trading volumes, main contracts traded, as well as potential business and arbitrage opportunities with other commodity exchanges.
The Road Show will debut in:
Tokyo â May 13th at the TOCOM Exchange building
Singapore â May 17th at the SGX Centre
London â May 19th at The Brewers Hall
New York â May 24th at the Embassy Suites Hotel
Chicago â May 26th at the Union League
"There is increasing interest in trading commodities electronically due, in part, to the explosive rise in commodities volume across the board," said Anne Jeanmart, GL NET Business Development Director. "The result is a tremendous opportunity for the entire financial community (Exchanges, ISVs, Brokers, Buy Sides). Through this road show, we hope to facilitate a discussion with market participants to determine how we can satisfy their increasingly complex requirements."
