THOMSON FINANCIAL AND DOW JONES NEWSWIRES EXTEND NORTH AMERICAN DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT FOR FOUR ADDITIONAL YEARS

Targeted Dow Jones Solutions Will be Available to Thomson ONE Customers

NEW YORK (May TK, 2004) -- Dow Jones Newswires, the leading provider of news and information to financial professionals, and Thomson Financial, an operating unit of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC) and leading provider of information and technology solutions to the world-wide financial community, today announced that they have extended their distribution agreement for an additional four years to provide news solutions to Thomson ONE users in the U.S. and Canada. The financial terms of the agreement weren’t disclosed.

Dow Jones Capital Markets Report now will be included with Thomson ONE Yield, a real-time platform of data, analytics and applications for the fixed-income market. Thomson ONE Yield customers will receive Dow Jones’ real-time news and information for fixed-income market professionals, the premier coverage of bond and currency markets, and the events and issues that affect them.

Dow Jones News Service, the most widely used source of news and information by North American financial professionals, will continue to be available as an optional service on Thomson ONE, the largest distribution platform for Dow Jones. Dow Jones NewsPlus, an easy-to-use, efficient look at the day’s most important stories and exclusive Dow Jones features and analysis, is included with subscriptions to Dow Jones News Service and is seamlessly integrated into Thomson ONE. More than 25,000 users on Thomson ONE now have access to Dow Jones NewsPlus.
