Bracknell, Berkshire – 13 May 2004: As part of the drive to increase its presence in key public and private sector markets, leading provider of proactive content security solutions, Finjan Software (Finjan), has appointed Paul Headford to the role of corporate accounts manager.

Headford brings with him 20 years’ IT sales and management experience, including spells at ICS Computer Systems, as sales director of successful start-up, Hanover Computer Systems, and with security software specialist, PentaSafe (now NetIQ). Most recently, as senior account manager with fellow security vendor, Safestone Technologies plc, he won the Worldwide Salesman of the Year award.

At Finjan, he will be responsible for developing key vertical markets, including government, utilities, transportation and retail. "For organisations in these and other sectors, traditional reactive solutions by themselves have proved inadequate in the face of ever more sophisticated IT security threats," he believes. "By contrast, Finjan’s proactive approach - using advanced behavioural analysis technology - is proving especially valuable in protecting against any new attack the first time it hits."

Vice president of European sales, Nick Sears, agrees: "Our year-on-year sales continue to double as companies increasingly recognise the importance of this additional layer of protection against viral and other security attacks.
