DataFort, the leading provider of managed off-site data backup, today announced the appointment of Jinesh Patel as Head of Technical Support. Patel will oversee and expand DataFort's customer and channel support programme, across all touch-points.
"The job of my division at DataFort will be as much to advise businesses as to support their IT back-up systems," says Patel. "The new Government-backed PAS 56 standard encourages companies to adopt best practice in business continuity and disaster recovery. This is something praying on the minds of many managing directors, with whom I am in daily contact to ensure they are compliant, and their IT systems and archives are as resilient to disruption as possible."
Patel joins DataFort from database marketing consultancy MillerStarr. Prior to that he worked as an analyst for Xperience Systems where he developed two of their world-class pharmaceutical sales and marketing systems, Pharma Xplorer and Pharma Compass. His career began in research at WS Watkins. Specialising in aviation, government, power and water, WS Watkins is one of the world's leading IT consultancies with offices in five countries.
"As one of the UK's original vendors of off-site back-up, DataFort has seen the market transform across the past three years," reports founder and CEO, Gavin Smith. "Despite the fact that off-site requires less service and support than archaic secondary storage like tape drives, our success has been based on hands-on telephone, email and person-to-person support."
