Britannic is first in Scotland to go live with Linedata Services' LongView Trading FIX Gateway

London, 29 June 2004 - Linedata Services, a leading provider of software and services to the global financial services marketplace, today announced that Britannic Asset Management has gone live with the LongView Trading FIX Gateway. Britannic Asset Management is believed to be the first in Scotland to leverage FIX to enhance its trading process.

Britannic Asset Management (BAM), part of the Britannic Group of companies, has managed equities, bonds and property on behalf of individuals and large institutional clients for decades. It currently has around £14 billion of funds under management and prides itself on its wealth of experience within financial markets. BAM offers segregated and pooled specialist investment management services, a comprehensive range of unit trusts and ISAs, PEPs and investment trusts.

Britannic is committed to providing the best quality service to its clients and strongly believes that smooth, efficient, straight through processing is vital to achieving this. Having successfully completed a large STP project to gain trade matching and electronic trade confirmation, the natural progression was to enable electronic trade routing and executions.

Betsy Anderson, Head of Centralised Dealing at Britannic Asset Management, explained, "We wanted to be able to route our orders to our brokers and receive executions electronically with little or no manual data entry."

She continued, "We have used Linedata Services’ LongView Trading system since we set up our centralised dealing desk and have enjoyed an excellent relationship with Linedata over the last four years. With this in mind, it was an easy decision to implement our FIX gateway through LongView Trading. In addition, the network provider that we chose to route our orders through had already had many successful LongView Trading implementations. This reinforced our decision and gave us confidence that we were treading familiar, well-tested ground."

Paul Roberts, Chief Operating Officer at Linedata Services (UK) Ltd, commented, "We are delighted that Britannic Asset Management has now gone live with Linedata Services’ LongView Trading FIX Gateway. We have more than 50 customers already using this throughout Europe and the US, and we are proud to be able to announce that we have enabled the first FIX Gateway in Scotland, through Britannic Asset Management."

Linedata Services was the first Order Management vendor to offer FIX connectivity in Europe and the first to support FIX Allocations globally. LongView Trading supports FIX 4.0, 4.2 and 4.4.
