Southern Company Selects e-Systems for Natural Gas Management Solution

Birmingham, AL., June 21, 2004 -- e-Systems.net, Inc., a leading energy consulting and software practice, announced today that Southern Company Services, Inc., a subsidiary of Southern Company (SO), has selected e-Systems’ Attaché software to support its daily gas operations. Attaché will be used to manage the supply and delivery of natural gas to Southern Company’s gas-fired power plants across the Southeast, as well as manage Southern Company’s natural gas storage activities.

"The Attaché software will help us run a more efficient operation, for the benefit of our customers," said Carl Haga, manager, gas operations, Southern Company Services.

"We are pleased that Southern Company has chosen Attaché as the platform to support their day to day gas operations and we are excited to be working with one of the largest producers of electricity in the United States," said Marie Calhoun, president of e-Systems. "Their selection of Attaché further validates our belief that a practical system solution can be integrated in a short amount of time and still provide an unbeatable value for the customer. Attaché is a real-time tool that empowers the user, rather than simply serving as a data repository."

Following a thorough evaluation and RFP process, Southern Company selected Attaché to replace an existing legacy system. Attaché was initially implemented at Interconn Resources, a natural gas marketer headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, to help manage its gas purchases, sales, transportation, and storage activity.
