Portsmouth, Hants -- 9 January 2004: Leading application developer Software Services International has signed a partnership agreement with the professional services division of Sun Microsystems. Under the agreement, Software-SI will provide its Smart legacy modernisation software and services to customers moving to the Sun platform.
Software-SI chief executive, Phil Brooks, says, 'Legacy modernisation tools are the vital ingredient that enable 'locked in' users to move their legacy business applications onto a modern open computing platform. Sun is at the forefront of addressing the rehosting needs of users wishing to move to its open platform and has chosen to partner with Software-SI to provide its
customers with a fully automated toolkit to simplify that transition.'
According to Sun Microsystems UK partner manager, Chris Cordrey, 'There's no question that partnering is a key to success in the Net Economy. No single vendor has the resources to go it alone and deliver end-to-end, best-of-breed solutions. Sun seeks to find partners who can provide maximum leverage for its customers, and Software-SI brings a valuable asset to Sun Microsystems total rehosting solution.'
Says Chris Cordrey, 'We are always looking for cooperative partnering among the best and brightest in the industry -- bringing together groups that impact creation and delivery of solutions to Sunâs customer so that they can work together more effectively. Software-SI fits perfectly with that strategy because its legacy modernisation toolkit is an industry best-of-breed product.'
