ANNUAL FINANCIAL PRODUCTS REPORT SEES 'LIFE ASSURANCE' TOP ‘MORTGAGES’ FOR SHARE OF VOICE IN THE NATIONAL PRESS

… but it is not all good news…as most of the press coverage gained by the life assurance sector was negative…

The Financial Products 2003 annual report shows the Public Relations efforts of all PRO’s in the Financial Services sector during 2003 and where the press can positively and negatively effect the published opinion of products throughout the year.

Whilst the Life Assurance sector attracted a larger share of the coverage in 2003 this was largely due to the problems in the sector and not as a result of stories pushed out by operatives in the sector. The closure of life funds, endowment miss selling, concerns over minimum solvency requirements and the continuing fall out from Equitable Life contributed to raise this sectors’ share of coverage from 9% last time to 15% this time.
