London, October 2 2003 - TIBCO are the first vendor to sign up for inclusion in the B.I.S.S.- EAI 2003 benchmarking of EAI & Web Services - Systems for Real Time STP, designed to highlight the potential of T+1 in the securities market. This is being organised by CityCompass in conjunction with the EAI Industry Consortium. Preliminary results will be announced at an event on December 2, where the benchmarking panel will present their conclusions on systems for front, middle and back office operations.

The user benchmarking panel has been joined by Bob Fuller of Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, Richard Cargill of Morley Fund Managers, Clive Verrall of BNP Paribas and Alan Jenkins of OpRisk Ltd. It will be chaired by Steve Craggs from the EAI Industry Consortium.

Vendors will complete a questionnaire designed by the benchmarking panel. The panel will review these and pose supplementary questions. Using an agreed scoring system each panellist will then allocate marks which will be reviewed by the chairman for any discrepancies. Criteria will include internet and FIX order capture, real time access to reference data, routing, internal and external integration/ communication with disparate systems and online presentation of transactions for management and regulatory reporting.

The event on December 2 will include speakers from all the major market structure organisations and users including Fred Meyer, CEO of Cast Iron Systems, Chris Pickles of Radianz and Kevin Bourne, Head of Equity Trading at CitiGroup. They will give their perspectives on specific user requirements for real time processing and what they need from the vendors.
