LONDON - Microsoft today announced the appointment of Koen Van den Brande as Retail Banking Strategist, Microsoft EMEA Financial Services. In this new role, Koen will be responsible for developing Microsoft's pan-EMEA retail banking strategy on how technological advances can enable retail banks reinvigorate their branch networks, improve customer service and increase sales.
Koen joins Microsoft from Misys where he was the Director of Marketing and Product Strategy for Retail Banking. During his 16 years at Misys, Koen was responsible for building up the Retail Banking business. His remit covered product strategy and marketing for market-leading products with a turnover of around $200m. In his role as Product Director Universal Banking at MKI, a Misys company, Koen was also responsible for building Misys' branch-automation system, which was developed entirely on Microsoft technology.
Koen's previous roles include that of Marketing Director at Kapiti, the company Misys acquired when it started to build its Banking Division. Prior to this he ran the Treasury team for a group of banks, at BankorpData, South Africa.
