today announced that 50 brokers at its Sydney offices are now using voice
trading technology from Syntegra. The new system replaced existing V-band
technology, and took just five weeks to implement from contract signing. The
new trading floor went live in the middle of 2002.
"ICAP is committed to implementing the best technology to improve our
service and trading facilities," said Austen Marriott, the chief operating
officer for ICAP in Asia Pacific. "We took advantage of the move to our new
premises to update our voice trading technology. We carefully reviewed all
the vendors on the market - including IPC, Etrali and Syntegra - in order to
ensure the technology implemented met our needs as far as flexibility,
scalability and overall value were concerned."
Brokers at the new office are using Syntegra's latest ITS pV405Hi turrets running on Release 13, together with a combination of open line and
conventional eight way speakers for superior audio quality - allowing them
to be easily heard on the busy trading floor. These are supported by an ITS
p51 platform. Syntegra also provided the most recent voice recording system
In addition, ICAP installed Syntegra's proven ITSlink computer telephony integration (CTI) applications. These intuitive applications are designed to handle individual call activity - including support for golden DDI (Direct Dial In) numbers ensuring that premium service is offered to priority clients; and 'click-dial' to simplify the making of outgoing calls or the retrieval of previous call records, linking the relevant information from the contact database. All call activity is personalised, and can be stored and viewed for several days.
"Syntegra welcomes the opportunity to work with ICAP in Australia. The
implementation of Syntegra's CTI and voice trading technology will strengthen ICAP's leading position in the broking market. It also reaffirms Syntegra's widespread acceptance as technology and service provider to the wholesale finance marketplace in Australia and New Zealand," says Tom Frtunik, general manager, trading systems, Australia, at Syntegra.
